Do You Really Need a Professional Headshot?
Here's Why the Answer Is Yes.

Professional Headshot by SFMedia

Let's be honest — when someone Googles your name, the first thing they look at is your photo. Before they read a single word about you, they've already formed an impression. That impression is either working for you or against you. A professional headshot makes sure it's working for you.

Whether you're a freelancer, an executive, an entrepreneur, or someone just stepping into a new career — your headshot is your first handshake. And in Seattle's competitive market, that handshake matters more than ever.

"You never get a second chance to make a first impression — and online, your photo makes it before you even open your mouth."

Your Phone Camera Isn't Cutting It

We've all seen them — the LinkedIn profile photo taken at a family BBQ, cropped from a group shot, lit by nothing but a kitchen ceiling light. It's not doing you any favors. Clients, employers, and collaborators notice the difference between a polished professional image and a snapshot. One says you invest in yourself. The other says you don't.

A professional headshot isn't just about looking good. It's about looking intentional. The lighting, the angle, the expression, the background — every element is crafted to communicate who you are and what you bring to the table.

Where Your Headshot Shows Up

Think about everywhere your face appears online: LinkedIn, your company website, Google Business Profile, Instagram, speaker bios, press features, email signatures. Every single one of those touchpoints is an opportunity to make a strong impression — or a forgettable one.

A great headshot works across all of them. It's versatile, consistent, and professional. It tells people you take your work seriously before you've said a word.

What a Session With SFMedia Looks Like

I keep sessions relaxed and low-pressure. Most people aren't used to being in front of a camera — and that's completely fine. My job is to create an environment where you feel comfortable enough that your real personality comes through. Because the best headshots don't look like headshots. They look like you, on your best day.

Sessions typically run 30–60 minutes, shot on location or in a studio setup depending on your preference. You'll walk away with a gallery of edited images ready to use anywhere.

The Bottom Line

If you're serious about how you show up professionally — online and in person — a headshot is one of the highest-ROI investments you can make. It pays for itself the first time a client chooses you over someone else because you looked more credible, more approachable, more like someone they want to work with.

You've put in the work to get where you are. Let your photo reflect that.

Sean Noche-Schultz

Film Maker and Photographer. With more than 2 years of experience in the field and continuing to widen my knowledge taking on new projects too exceed my creative limits.

When it comes to Photography my style is to bring the beauty out of imperfection. With the world trying to move into this unrealistic view of people looking perfect all the time, with just one touch of a filter. I want to exploit it. At the end of the day we are human. We can’t be perfect 24/7 as much as we want to. We will always have minor blemishes and certain areas of our body we do not like about ourselves… But that is the beauty of being human. It should be realized that people are perfect by being imperfect.

When it comes to Film Making I just love the desired challenge that comes to it. Building a story, the multiple hours and angles that must shot, and the shear overall end post process of making a video is exciting. Whether its a short commercial video or a short film documentary. There is always a story to it, that is being told. That’s where I come in. Is too make sure that vision comes to life. I never set limits to my video making skills. Willingly and openly always taking on certain projects to expand and break barriers.
